One of the world's leading motorcycle aces Terry Rymer is about to embark on the
first step towards achieving a lifetime ambition, to compete at the famous Le
Man's 24 hour race.
"It has always been my ambition to compete at the Le Man's race, I have raced
in the equivalent motorcycle event and managed to win it twice, so it would be
fantastic to be the only person in history to win in both of the disciplines (two
and four wheels), but its going to be tough. I know that its a lot to ask and
for sure the success is not going to happen overnight, but you have to have an
ultimate goal and there is not anyone more determined than me to get there and
score" says Terry.
And to confirm his intentions, the former British/European Superbike Champion
and reigning World Endurance Champion has announced that he will be driving in
the Privilege Insurance British Powertour GT Series. Rymer, 33 will be driving
for the PK Porsche Team in their Porsche GT2 car. Despite the different disciplines
Terry is not phased by the move from two to four wheels. Speed and acceleration
are both a way of life for Terry combined with this and his 14 years professional
experience giving him a crucial racing edge against the competition.
"I'm really excited about the prospect of racing with the PK Porsche Team and
having been given the opportunity to work with a professional set-up and learning
as much as possible about racing a GT car with them. I cannot wait for the first
race at Thruxton!"
